when ur with ur friends in 1 tribe its called a faction when ur living in a house with ur faction its called a base, u Always have to build a nice cool giant base when u want to survive with ur faction and dinos here are some pictures that mayby helps u when u don't know what for base u want to make u can make a few bases like (Air base)(ground base)(cave base)(water base)(tree base)(Dino base)(boat base)(Underground base)

on the outside u see those plants there called plant X on scorched earth u have plant Y i think there no diffrence but how u get the plant X is by the swamp the thorn bushes harvest them and u get plant X seeds u place them near ur base into large crop plots and give it the seed and feces so it will grow and give it some water to make it grow and then when someone else or a wild animal comes nearby ur base it will shoot poison what a dilophosaur shoots out of its mouth is the same thing what these things spit out so when ur not online it will automaticly shoot non stop there is no ammo for this is non stop until it gets destroyt.

u can paint on tek houses so if u know the minecraft nether portal from the tek portal u can make the nether portal it looks really cool so if u want to try it ones try it and let ur eyes be surprised.

mayby this will help u understand that some places to build a base are cool to make but the underground base is only on the center map there is no underground world somewhere else in a map.

i figguret out that the plant X and plant Y are diffrent but if u take them and put them together then u have a awesome deffence quese the plant X shoots poison balls and the plant Y only gives in its inventory plant Y trap u place it down and it will give u tentacles that goes into the ground and hides when a small creature or a person comes nearby it will go above ground and traps the person until the plant is broken the player will be stuck into the trap and the plant X will non stop shoot the small creature or person so mayby the plant Y trap dies or the creature/person.

if u make a underwater base use a generator water pomp or u will end up like this

Dire bear cave

when u got a base u don't want someone that u don't know to come inside and steal ur stuff and kills ur dinos so u don't want that and people that glitch in ur base is anoying too so what u do is make around ur base allot of turres or whats better is u live inside water and there make turrets if u make an underwater base thats better.
